Debra Beebe Memorial Lecture - Police Interactions with Individuals with Mental Health Illnesses Amy Watson, PhD is a professor at Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Professor Watson has worked extensively on issues involving the relationship between the criminal justice system and mental health systems in Chicago and around the country. For the past two decades, her research has focused on police encounters with persons with serious mental illnesses and the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) model.
