“Branson’s brought in international folks for many decades to work in the show industry and other segments of our economy and they’re a vital part of our community whether they’re here temporarily for a summer or they live there permanently as a resident,” says Heather Hardinger, Director of Workforce Strategy and Programs with Taney County Partnership. Hardinger says they work with the J1 Exchange Program, a cultural exchange program that allows about 800 international college students to spend four to five months in Branson each summer. Hardinger says they also advocate with several other VISA programs to bring in seasonal workers to meet workforce demands. Hardinger is a Springfield Business Journal 2019 40 Under 40 honoree.
