You can only get so good at fighting by training on a Shooting Range in much the same way as you can never get good at hand-to-hand fighting by only hitting a punching bag. Former Army Ranger John Lovell talks about how fighter mindset, courage, and tactics are far more important than shooting skills and gear. If the goal is to be a better protector and fighter, than it's important to get the right gear and train skills, but much more so is the mindset that will enable you to think clearly, master fear, solve problems under stress, and actually DO the skill you practiced on the flat range. Shooting on range is extremely helpful, but it is woefully inadequate to make someone a good fighter. Train hard. Train smart.
