Welcome to another episode of Challenger Approaching! In this series, we discuss characters who could find their way into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate or future entries, then go into ludicrous detail on what they would be like if they joined the fight for real!
This time, we're...stepping into controversial territory. With both some dedicated support and vocal resistance, Minecraft and its avatar character Steve have been a point of contention within the Smash community, much of it surrounding whether older characters should have first dibs or whether he should be allowed to have a chance in the first place! But beyond all of that, beyond the controversy, the hot takes, the lines drawn in the sand on forums worldwide...what does Steve have to offer? What kind of moveset might he bring to the table if he did get a look, and could he genuinely have some unique abilities to offer? Let's find out.
