A theme I always hear coming back to for competitive Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players is the idea of analyzing and watching pro matches. Watching pro players is a big part of exactly how new players could learn Melee and Brawl so quickly.
Those games didn't have online, or had very poor online, so you were stuck with whichever players you had in your reach. It is such a myth that you need to play versus opponents much better than you to improve. If that were true, how could the best player ever get better?
Watching the pros, like Tweek and Marss in the thumbnail, then playing against your friends, was the way of life. There is a lot of value to be had, and I'd say it's almost a necessity at this point. In this video I share how I analyze, as there is heavy debate and I find many overdo it or under-do it sort of speak.
