The Spur Schools MTB League has set itself some exciting development goals. The SSMTBL is striving to achieve 20% PDI participation in the League Finals by 2022. This participation will be based on merit and would thus require that PDI schools build teams to participate and eventually qualify. This is not going to be an easy task and will require resource. While we are seeking corporate support for these teams, the instigation of this program as shown in the recent Soweto Schools project will come from internal SSMTBL funding.
To achieve these goals, the SSMTBL has established a Development Fund to facilitate the creation of talent identification programs in new regions and to provide general support to our transformation program.
In 2018 season the League allocated over R280 000 to development initiatives and we're to say that we are already seeing the fruits of this investment.
