Young ducks thrown into the air and forced to fly in West Sumatra

Hoards of men are shown holding birds by their feet before launching them into the air in West Sumatra, Indonesia. Young ducks aged between four and six months old that have never laid eggs are used for the training. Footage shows one bird unable to hold her weight as she lands and her body scrapes along the tarmacked road. Between training sessions the birds are kept inside small metal containers.
