How to Make the Best Use of Vellum and Paper Piercing

How to Make the Best Use of Vellum and Paper Piercing Today I'm teaching you how to make the best use of vellum and paper piercing. I'm using both these tips featuring the new Above the Clouds Bundle (stamp set + coordinating Hot Air Balloon Punch).

This punch is incredible versatile, too! If you missed my video last week on how to use it four different ways (other than a hot air balloon) be sure to click here: I created a golf ball, alien, chocolate kiss and a lightbulb - all using the Hot Air Balloon Punch.

Vellum has a beautiful opaque finish but it can be difficult to get a clean image using a punch. I'll share some tips about using vellum in your punches as well as how to adhere it so it's flawless. Did you know you can also use liquid glue and a sponge for adhering vellum? I've got a great quick tip video on that use here:

I think you'll agree that it's the small details that bring the wow factor to a handmade card. In addition to the vellum cloud (using the Pretty Label Punch), I added details around the sun using the Pierce Mat and the Take Your Pick Tool. It looks detailed but I created all three rows of piercing in under a minute. Don't you love how the Daffodil Delight cardstock peeks through the holes?

I used the Stampin' Blends to color in the hot air balloon and I provide tips on the blending during the video. The Above the Clouds stamp set is a two-step stamp so there are also 'filler' images if you prefer not to color. The basket was stamped using the outline image and then filled using the solid image in the set.

This striking color combination makes this a bright and cheerful card. Change up the greeting and you'll have everything from birthday to get well. And, this being graduation season, this greeting is perfect for those graduates you'll be celebrating!
