Mexico's Magic Mushroom Town (Would you give your children mushrooms?) Huautla de Jimenez is a small town in the Sierra Mazateca mountains in Oaxaca. This town was made famous when local medicine woman Maria Sabina met with American banker, Gordon Wasson, and shared the "mushroom that gives you strange visions" with him! Wasson came back to America and published an article in Life magazine which arguably inspired the counter-culture psychedelic hippie movement in America!
