Universal Studios Hollywood is connected by a series of escalators called the Starway

Most of Universal Studios Hollywood is situated on top of a hill, overlooking the San Fernando Valley. There’s a portion of the park, however, at the bottom of that hill, and the Upper and Lower Lots are connected by the Starway, a 1/4 mile stretch of escalators and walkways. If you plan on taking the stairs then total, there are 345 steps. That’s an 18-story building!

The domed glass ceilings cover the escalators. The stairs are off to the side. Universal Studios Hollywood is a film studio and theme park in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles County, California. About 70% of the studio lies within the unincorporated county island known as Universal City while the rest lies within the city limits of Los Angeles, California. It is one of the oldest and most famous Hollywood film studios still in use. Its official marketing headline is "The Entertainment Capital of LA".

Universal Studios Hollywood is split into two areas on different levels, connected by a series of escalators called the Starway. These areas are known as the Upper lot and Lower lot.
