President Duterte wants Navy’s future offshore patrol vessels built in Cebu National Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said during the opening of Austal Philippines’ new John Rothwell Assembly Bay in its Balamban, Cebu shipyard that President Rodrigo Duterte personally wants the Philippine Navy’s future six offshore patrol vessels (OPVs) to be built in Cebu.

Austal Philippines is part of Australia-based Austal Group.

Negotiations between Austal and the Philippine government is in progress and contract is eyed to be signed before 2019 ends.

Austal is eyeing to supply the Philippine Navy’s six offshore patrol vessels (OPVs) to be designed and built in the Philippines.
