More than 3.93 million residents in the central Hunan Province have suffered from the damages brought by floodwater, with 17 people missing or presumed dead. A total of 377 rivers across the country have reported floods exceeding alarm levels. Meanwhile, intensive heavy rainfalls have caused severe flooding in many provinces in southern China. So far, 16 provinces across the country have issued mountain flood warnings.
