Six youngsters Frank Lampard could use at Chelsea next season as he battles transfer ban

Six youngsters Frank Lampard could use at Chelsea next season as he battles transfer ban FIFA imposed the ban on Chelsea over their past recruitment of foreign minors and despite an appeal, the decision has been upheld and as things stand, the club will not be able to make transfers until after next January. Lampard, who guided Derby to a Championship play-off final with Aston Villa last season, walks into a job at Chelsea at quite an unstable time. The team are light years behind Liverpool and Manchester City in terms of quality and have Champions League football to contend with next season as well. Lampard will need all the help he can get but without the ability to sign players, here are SIX youngsters the former England midfielder should rely on next season.Ethan Ampadu Ampadu might be the most naturally-gifted young talent at Chelsea but simply hasn’t been given the appropriate time to prove himself in the heart of Chelsea’s defence. The Welshman is calm on the ball and can pick out long-range passes from deep, while he also has the ability to play out from the back and dribble with confidence. It was clear, however, that Sarri wasn’t a fan of the 18-year-old, who featured more under Antonio Conte when the Italian led Chelsea to an FA Cup victory in 2018. With Antonio Rudiger injured and Andreas Christensen angling for a move away, Ampadu may fancy his chances of sneaking into the starting XI. Callum Hudson-Odoi Hudson-Odoi managed to break into Maurizio Sarri’s starting XI last season and made big impact when given the chance. The Blues academy product scored 10 goals for Chelsea with most of them coming in the Europa League. His form for Chelsea was so impressive that he earned his first two England call-ups and showed manager Gareth Southgate what all the hype is about. Unfortunately for Chelsea, Hudson-Odoi sustained a torn Achilles tendon in a draw with Burnley towards the end of the season but could return before Christmas time. Tammy Abraham Chelsea have a desperate striker situation that needs addressing with Alvaro Morata out on loan and Gonzalo Higuain likely returning to Juventus this summer. Olivier Giroud has signed a new contract with Chelsea but is likely to remain a bit-part player next season. This brings us to Abraham who spent last term on loan with Aston Villa. The 21-year-old scored a highly-impressive 26 goals in 40 appearances under Dean Smith and John Terry at Villa Park. Maturing at a steady pace, Lampard may feel that now is the right time to bring him into the Blues’ starting line-up. Mason Mount Mount spent the season on loan at Derby under Lampard’s tutelage and can expect to see a hefty amount of game time at Chelsea once pre-season is over with. The 20-year-old impressed for Derby in central midfield and scored some important goals for Lampard but will now look to ply his craft in the top flight for his boyhood club. Lampard will likely give Mount assurances of his first XI prospects, having already spent a season assessing the youngster’s progressive talents. Fikayo Tomori Tomori also played
