Why we won't get ALITA 2 for quite some time

Rosa Salazar gave us an update on ALITA BATTLE ANGEL 2 while at San Diego Comic-Con, and it wasn't looking good for the Alita Army in regards to a sequel. The Disney Fox Merger really messed things up, and even though the film made enough money to warrant a follow-up, Alan Horn and 20th Century Fox division is probably gonna wait on AVATAR 2 before giving James Cameron any more money for a passion project. Hopefully Robert Rodriguez can pitch a sequel that costs a bit less, and it can get made.
