Attorney Wants White Collar Crime Under Anti Gang Legislation

Attorney Wants White Collar Crime Under Anti Gang Legislation Former Government Minister Subhas Panday is questioning why white collar crime isn't dealt with under the Anti-Gang legislation.

Speaking at his office on Thursday, Mr. Panday said the offences for which former Minister Marlene McDonald, her husband, Michael Carew, and others have been charged have all the characteristics of "gang members."

He said under the legislation gang activity is listed as offences such as stealing stolen goods or larceny of a motor car. He called on the Government to immediately amend the Anti Gang Act to include in the schedule white collar crime.
