Colour Run Performances 2019 at Uhuru Garden

Colour Run Performances 2019 at Uhuru Garden This unique run involves participants of all abilities and ages being doused from head to toe with coloured powder while they sprint, jog or walk 5km route on a marked course. The Kenya Colour Run is entirely focused on FUN so there is no competitive atmosphere, no recorded times and no age restrictions, all that matters is that you enjoy yourself and finish covered in loads of colour!
The event originated from India as the “Holi Festival” and is today a global event that promotes health and wellness by bringing the community together to participate in the “Most Creative 5K Run.” South Africa was the first country to host Color Run in Africa, followed by Zimbabwe in 2013. Kenya Colour Run is under Africa Colour Run that organizes events in Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia. Kenya Colour Run first event was in Nairobi on June 2017 and the second in Nanyuki in December. The main goal of these events was to promote peace awareness in the midst of campaigns and elections as well as celebrate Kenya’s rich ethnic diversity.
Known to be the best, biggest and most colourful event that Kenya has ever seen, the Colour Run will have a one-of-a-kind theme: Colours, DJ music, running, jogging, skipping, and dancing will ensure that all participants will have an absolute blast! During The Colour Run, participants can choose to run, walk, jog, dance, or skip around the 5km course with their family and friends. This will make Colour Runners feel on top of the world, as they enjoy rainbow colours and, as always, get covered from head-to-toe in an array of colours! After the course, participants enjoy the ultimate colour extravaganza with family and friends at the Finish Festival – featuring the world-famous colour throws! People from every part of the community in Kenya have shown their enthusiasm for living a healthy lifestyle, with over two thousand participants showing up at the event in 2017. The Colour Run is a unique race that celebrates health, happiness, and individuality by both empowering and encouraging participants of all ages and abilities to focus on their health and well-being. The excitement witnessed towards this wonderful event demonstrates once again Kenya’s vision to empower and inspire all to lead healthier and happier lifestyles, while still having fun in the process!.
Kenya Colour Run is the fundraising effort for Sports for Change, a local charity whose primary cause is to support disadvantaged but academically gifted youths by meeting their education fees and costs through high school, tertiary and university education.
Started eight years ago, SFC combines the passion for sports with a desire to increase access to quality education for underprivileged youth. The project aims at giving children from the disadvantaged background a right to education and an opportunity to reach their full potential.
