NEED FOR SPEED: HEAT | THIS EA GAME ACTUALLY LOOKS GOOD? Everything You Need To Know About NFS 2019

The 2019 Need For Speed Heat actually looks really good, and I'm excited to play this game when it's released on November 8th, 2019. Of course, the need for speed franchise has mostly been a dud this console generation, but I hope this new game from EA manages to live up to the legendary franchise. I'll make sure to let you know in my review when it's released if it's worth a buy, but as long as EA doesn't include microtransactions, look boxes, or speed cards, then this game has a ton of potential, and I hope EA full utilizes it!

Unsurprisingly, the new game is not only dramatically different than payback, but also seems to finally be drawing some inspirations from the earlier games that are loved by so many. First off the dreaded speed cards are gone and you no longer need them to upgrade your ride. Now you’ll earn money just by playing the game and can upgrade your car how you want, and EA has made sure to explicitly state the game won’t have loot boxes, and while I’m glad to hear that, they shouldn’t have to clarify that in the first place. Moving on though, cars are also no longer separated by class, so now in Heat, any car can be tuned for drifting or for speed, and these 2 styles have also been separated far more so that players can build the cars how they want.
Next up this game will also require players to play the game during both day and night to build up cars and progress through the story. Unlike the previous entries, this game has neatly split its campaign in two. During the day you’ll be competing for cash by taking part in legal racing events, while at night you’ll be earning a different currency called reputation. This currency will unlock new events, cars, and pats. You can choose which setting you want to spend the majority of your time in. But alternating between the 2 will allow the fastest progression, as well as influence the police.
During the day cops are much more tame, and will only go after you if you bump into them, or break the law in a significant way, allowing players to more easily complete side challenges and find collectibles while your car still bathes in the suns heat. However, at night the cops are an entirely different beast, they are much more aggressive, and you will have a heat rating that rises as you take part in events at night and perform unsanctioned activities. The higher your heat rises, the larger and more advanced the cop’s force becomes, leading to rhino units and helicopters eventually being called in. If you’re caught, then all your nighly earnings will be taken away, making the night time chases a high risk high reward scenario, similar to the Darkzone in the division. Now while I enjoyed ramming and destroying cops in the original most wanted where your car was basically a tank, and could only get sopped after getting boxed in, here in Heat you are no longer a tank. Your car will have health, meaning it will be up to you deciding when to fight, and when to run.
