The Oliver Mayman Trio, Ann Arbor Summer Festival “A Western Complication'

The Oliver Mayman Trio, Ann Arbor Summer Festival “A Western Complication' Here in Ann Arbor, talent blooms in our backyard. Enjoy a gentle summer’s evening with recent Community and Huron High School graduate Oliver Mayman’s trio. Beginning drums at age 9, he has since developed an exceedingly melodic yet fiery, driving sound on the instrument. With primary influences such as Ari Hoenig, Jimmy Cobb, Jeff Watts, Nasheet Waits, and Brian Blade, swing is intrinsic in his music. And that holds true with his trio. Joined by bassist extraordinaire Jake Lee and superb pianist Rowan Tucker-Meyer, the drummer will present original spins on jazz classics, some compositions, and a plethora of improvisational spontaneity.
