Ah, the SG Elegant. A model that some how, I was never really made aware of. I know I've seen a few of them around, but I never realized Gibson continued the Elegant name from the Les Paul Elegant series after it was discontinued in 2004. An SG elegant varies from a regular SG in the fact that it has abalone inlays on the fretboard and a stellar quilt or flame maple top. These appear to have been released around 2003 and the first runs mainly have Quilty tops with cream binding. The later made ones around 2017 got colored headstocks similar to the Gibson Les Paul Widow series as well as Black Binding. Basically, an SG Elegant is just a fancy SG... but they play wonderful and they are the closest thing to an SG Widow that you'll find!
When Robert came over for our collaboration, he wasn't much of an SG fan - but he said he'd happily own this one! This SG Will Convert you into a lover of the shape!
