Two Common Mistakes With Row Technique

Two Common Mistakes With Row Technique This is part of Tony Gentilcore's "30 Days of Shoulders" article. You'll be able to find it soon at T-Nation.com.

There are many things to consider when it comes to why someone's shoulder may be bothering him or her. However, more often than not, how someone performs certain exercises is often the culprit.

Take the dumbbell row for example. It's not uncommon to see one of two (if not both) mistakes being made when someone does the exercise:

1. Too much glenohumeral extension. I call it the, "More ROM must be better" scenario. In this situation, each scapula dumps forward putting excessive stress on the bicep tendon.

2. Not allowing the scapulae to move around the rib cage.

Address or consider those two things and I'm willing to bet your shoulders may not hate you as much. – Tony Gentilcore
