Working for Corporations vs Freelancing - What to Expect

Should you work for a corporation or strike out on your own as a freelancer? I get this question pretty often, so I figured I would address it.

There are numerous benefits to both, and of course drawbacks as well. The TL;DR version is that I think you should start out working a corporate job to get experience and fat stacks. Once you've got a significant war chest, tackle the freelance and consulting world to make your own mark.
