Subaru Pinned Deck Conversion for Added Rigidity - EJ205 EJ22 EJ25 EJ257 Subaru Pinned Deck Concept Video

Here Jon prototypes a case strengthening concept on the milling machine. This concept should help strengthen the cylinders by bracing them against the casting of the case. EJ255/7 Cases have "Semi Closed Deck" design from the factory, which greatly improves rigidity. We simply are adding to this theory by adding additional bracing, with minimum interference with coolant flow.

The water jackets are bored to a specific depth, and then pins are tapped in with .001" interference fit. Once installed, pins MUST be faced to deck height, for a flat surface. Pins do not protrude, and are sandwiched between head gasket and bottom of freshly cut bore.

We do not have a HP range tested at this point, but are willing to offer this conversion for free to anyone who drops off a case for service here in Kalamazoo MI.

If you wish to have your Subaru case reconditioned and pinned, we offer this service to the lower 48 states only. You may find all this information at: www.SubaruMachine.com

If you wish to order parts along with your case reconditioning service, they will come from our parts affiliate Overnight Parts From Japan: www.ONPFJ.com
