Demonstrations continue for the fourth day in a row in Beirut and several Lebanese regions to protest against tax policies and to demand the overthrow of the government.

Since the early hours of the morning thousands of Lebanese gathered in the Martyrs Square and Riad Solh in central Beirut, and thousands of them gathered in the public squares in Tripoli, Nabatieh, Sidon, Tire and others.

Some roads have been blocked since morning in Beirut and most of Lebanon, the official NNA news agency reported.

Prime Minister Saad Hariri presented an economic paper to the parliamentary political blocs to come up with a solution to the economic crisis and adopt a budget for 2020 without taxes as demanded by the demonstrators.

The Association of Banks announced that the doors of the banks will remain closed on Monday 21 October in the hope that the general situation will quickly be established in the light of the good offices and tireless efforts by various authorities to reassure and stability and to resume normal life in the country.
