TOLEDO, Ohio— Lucas County and city officials held a press conference regarding the flu vaccine. The mayor and health commissioner as well as county commissioner spoke on the importance of getting your flu shot.

The mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz, commissioner Tina Wozniak, Health Commissioner Eric Zgodzinski and Police Chief George Karl all got their flu shot.

Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz and health leaders expressed the importance of getting your flu shot. They say it is easy and will not take long for you to get your shot. You can get a flu shot at any Toledo pharmacy or at your doctor.

According to Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz 12 people died in Lucas County due to flu related illnesses. That is why he says you need to get your flu shot.

Health Commissioner Eric Zgodzinski says 56,000 people died of flu illnesses in the US last year. He says on a "good year" that number would be 36,000.

The message that was echoed from each speaker is that getting your flu shot is painless, easy and quick.
