This is an MTA special video. This is some action at the 170th Street Station on the IRT Jerome Avenue Line at nighttime on a Sunday evening. Seen here are usual (4) trains, but also rerouted (5) trains, and both the Bombardier R142 and Kawasaki R142A fleet from the (4) line was being used on both the (4) and (5) lines. Here’s the story, throughout the weekend of Saturday, 10/12/2019, and Sunday, 10/13/2019, due to track maintenance, (5) trains were temporarily suspended in the Bronx between the 149th Street-Grand Concourse and East 180th Street Stations, and service was replaced by the (2) train. (5) trains ran in two sections. One section ran between the Bowling Green Station in Manhattan, and the 149th Street-Grand Concourse Station, and via the (4) line to and from the Burnside Avenue Station in the Bronx. That section was using fleet from the (4) line which consists Bombardier R142s, and Kawasaki R142As. The other section ran as a shuttle train (basically its late night service pattern) in the Bronx between the East 180th Street and Eastchester-Dyre Avenue Stations. (5) trains operating to and from the Burnside Avenue Station in the Bronx on the (4) line ran express northbound, but local southbound, where northbound trains skipped the 138th Street-Grand Concourse, 161st Street-Yankee Stadium, 167th Street, 170th Street, Mount Eden Avenue, and 176th Street Stations in the Bronx, but those stations were served by southbound trains. However, service at local stations in the Bronx between the 149th Street-Grand Concourse and Burnside Avenue Stations was provided normally in both directions by usual (4) trains. Also, due to track maintenance, from Friday, 10/11/2019, at 11:45 PM, until Monday, 10/14/2019, at 5:00 AM, northbound (4) trains were skipping the 138th Street-Grand Concourse Station in the Bronx, and southbound (4) and (5) trains provided alternate service. Also, due to track maintenance, from 6:45 AM, until 8:00 PM, on Saturday, 10/12/2019, and on Sunday, 10/13/2019, southbound (4) trains were skipping the Mosholu Parkway Station in the Bronx, and northbound (4) trains provided alternate service. Anyway, this was taken on Sunday, 10/13/2019, between the timeframes of 8:30 PM, and 9:30 PM, in the evening. This is a 2019 project.
