Technologies that fundamentally change who we are || Teknologier der fundamentalt ændrer hvem vi er Doyne Farmer: Technologies that fundamentally change who we are

We’re moving towards a singularity, as our technologies enable us to increasing modify our genetic makeup as well as augment our thoughts and our desires. This is both frightening and wonderful as these powerful new technologies have the potential to do immense good and immense bad - or both. The singularity might have similarities to what happened some 700 million years ago where single cellular organisms started to join and form multi cellular organisms. We can imagine that we merge with our technology and create a new and higher order of being.
