Continued Failure To Be Serious About Plastic Pollution

Continued Failure To Be Serious About Plastic Pollution Billions of people in the developing world are as dependent on plastic as are people in the developed world, but lack the infrastructure to properly dispose of plastic trash. Most plastic that people rely upon cannot be recycled, such as wrappers, packaging materials and so forth. Recycling has often failed even in the developed world. (In some U.S.cities, not even ten percent of recyclable plastic gets recycled.) Until there is proper disposal of plastic waste, including in the developing world, the plastic pollution disaster will only get worse. Furthermore, the unwillingness to employ people to do the manual labor necessary to remove plastic waste ensures the crisis worsens.
