The Final Few: Pacific National Roots Blown EMD's in Victoria 2015-2019

The Final Few: Pacific National Roots Blown EMD's in Victoria 2015-2019 From another delve into my video archives comes a compilation of Pacific National's last handful of Roots-Blown EMD's used in service in Victoria over the last few years from 2015 to 2019. Featuring locos H1, P20, T392, T400, X39, X41, X43, X44, X48, X50 and Y152, this video shows a few clips of each loco on various workings around Victoria on PN freights as well as the SSR operated light loco transfers between Bendigo and Melbourne, plus for T392, its' use on The Grainlander tour operated by 707 Operations.

The locos in this video have all seen differing fates as well, with H1 and Y152 stored at Dynon along with T371 (that I don't have footage of operating); P20 stored/allocated with 707 Operations along with S306 (again, no footage of it operating); and T392, X48 and X50 in service (these three are to the best of my knowledge actually the last three roots-blown EMD's PN use anywhere) while T400, X39, X41, X43 and X44 were all scrapped earlier in 2019. The oldest loco in this video, T392, is now 54 years old being built in 1965, while the newest, X50, is 43 years old being built in 1976. P20 is both oldest and newest in some respects as it was originally built in 1956 as T337 and rebuilt as P20 in 1985.

Apart from these locos, PN also have T379 stored at Port Kembla where it has laid for several years.
