A review of data from the San Diego City Attorney’s Office show that since January 2013 Black residents have accounted for 6,666 (23 percent) of all prosecutions for drug-related misdemeanors despite making up just 6.5 percent of the city’s population, according to the report. The report showed whites, who are 57 percent of the population, made up 48 percent of the prosecutions for similar offenses. Hosted by Phillip Scott
