Berm shed truss - round wood timber framing

Berm shed truss - round wood timber framing Ron and Josiah show their technique for putting up a log as a truss in the berm shed. This is a round wood timber framing project. A pole structure that is using logs that we have in excess to create a shed on the front side and a berm on the backside. The goal is a storage shed with very low materials cost. The cost will be pretty much just the rebar spikes. Ron Bigelow "the permaculture pickle" shows the jig he created for making the truss. Note that the joint is such that the bottom edge of the beam is supported on the post. This keeps the log from splitting horizontally. Note the use of electric chainsaws. When all is ready, we drill a big hole and hammer in a rebar spike.
