How to install a thin mosaic inlay in a tiled shower walls

How to install a thin mosaic inlay in a tiled shower walls With two different thicknesses of tiles, how do you create a flat plane of installation between the two materials? In this video I’m using a “mud” technique to create the correct thickness for the mosaics between the larger tiles. After setting the 12"x24" tiles and leaving the space for the inlay, I filled and screeded the inlay void 1st, with a layer of thin set mortar, then applied a layer of standard sand & cement mortar, to fill in the space. 2nd I used a gauged screed stick to rod off the excess mortar leaving a perfect, fresh bed of mortar to then apply the mosaic sheets to. 3rd I applied a very thin layer of thin set mortar over the fresh cement mortar from phase 2. I then set the mosaics into the fresh mortar bed and tapped them firmly into place with a flat wooden float.
