This North American porcupine (Erethizon dorsatum) is now deposited as a voucher specimen in the University of Michigan Museum of Zoology (UMMZ) mammal collections and available for study by the worldwide scientific community. The UMMZ is a center for the study of animal diversity, and houses world-class collections with nearly 15 million specimens that span almost 200 years of regional and global biodiversity studies.
