The Great Wildebeest Migration is the largest overland migration and one of the most magnificent spectacles of the natural world. More than two million animals, mostly wildebeests accompanied by zebras, gazelles and other plains animals, traverse over 800 km every year in a clockwise manner through the Serengeti - Mara ecosystem following the rain, sprouting of fresh grass and the availability of water.
