A lot of Christians don't realize how much influence surrounding cultures had on sacred scripture. The Bible did not evolve in a hermetically sealed jar but was in many ways the product of its time, borrowing and exchanging ideas with Israel's neighbors. Caananite ideas, Zoroastrian Ideas, Greek Ideas and Mesopotamian Ideas all found a home in sacred scripture. In this video, I show you my Top 5 favorite examples of where Paganism influenced the Bible!
