In need of comfort, but working on a budget? Never fear, Linenspa is here! This bed-in-a-box retailer has been shaking up the market with its ultra-affordable line of sleep products geared toward kids, teens and college. I’ll be taking a look at one of the brand’s best-selling items: the 8 Inch Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress.

Could this hybrid be the bed of your dreams? I won’t know until I put it through my series of rigorous tests to figure out how it feels, how it sleeps and whether or not it could be the perfect mattress for you.

CONSTRUCTION

Featuring just two layers of poly foam and tempered steel coils, this mattress has one of the simplest hybrid designs I’ve ever seen. This combination of materials is intended to create a sleeping experience that’s as pressure-relieving as it is supportive, while the no-fuss construction helps to keep prices low.

To see how this all comes together, let’s dive on into these different layers!

Cover - Crafted from a polyester blend, the Linenspa cover is pretty soft to the touch. It’s also quilted with a small amount of memory foam, which provides the sleeper with some immediate pressure relief.

Comfort Layer - The comfort layer is comprised of 1.5” of gentle poly foam. While you’re going to experience some satisfying sinkage with this material, it does have a quick response to pressure, so you’re not likely to feel stuck in the bed.

Support Layer - Directly below the comfort layer, you’ll find 6.5” of steel coils. This section brings some bounce to the structure, functioning as the main support system of the mattress. The spaces between the coils also encourage airflow, which helps with temperature regulation throughout the bed. While most hybrids I’ve tested employ a pocketed coil system, this open coil design is most similar to a traditional innerspring.
