Today I'm teaching you the proper technique to saber open bottles of champagne, and I talk a bit about the history of the practice. I also play a game I call "Will it Saber?" in which I attempt to saber with various objects around my bar. It gets pretty creative, and I get through a lot of bottles. Several cases of them actually. If you decide to try this, please be extremely careful. The bottle top flies off with incredible force and will destroy, maim, injure, or kill anything in its path. I'm not joking. Additionally as you'll see here, it's really not so safe for the person doing the sabering either.
