Understanding Spinal Cord Reflexes

Understanding Spinal Cord Reflexes ORGANIZATION OF SPINAL CORD
The prime focus of the following lecture is The Cord Reflexes. Section one of this lecture is about Organization of Spinal Cord. Firstly, the educator deals with the elucidation of Sensory Information and Organization of Spinal Cord for Motor Functions. Moving forward, a demonstration of Cross Section of Spinal Cord is carried out. In addition to this, the educator focuses on the discussion of Alpha Motor Neurons, Gamma Motor Neurons, and Interneurons.

MUSCLE SPINDLE
In section two the educator talks about Muscle Spindle. In the beginning, the Muscle Sensory Receptors are explained. Moving forward, the educator speaks in detail about Muscle Spindles, Division of Intrafusal Fibers, and Sensory Endings of Muscle Spindles. Moreover, light is shed on Sensory Innervation of Muscle Spindle and Response of Sensory Endings. At the end of this section, the educator imparts extensive information regarding Control of Intensity of Static and Dynamic Responses.

MUSCLE STRETCH REFLEX
Section three is about Muscle Stretch Reflex. The educator focuses on Damping in Smooth Muscle Contraction and demonstrates Voluntary Motor Activity. Subsequently, a description of Clinical Applications of Stretch Reflex takes place.

GOLGI TENDON AND OTHER REFLEXES
Section four imparts extensive information about Golgi Tendon and Other Reflexes. The educator brings to light a thorough discussion of Golgi Tendon Organs and Golgi Tendon Reflex. After this, an overview of Negative Feedback Regulation is provided followed by a demonstration of Autogenic Inhibition and Reciprocal Inhibition. At the end of this section, the educator talks thoroughly about Flexor Reflex and Crossed Extensor Reflex.

REFLEXES OF POSTURE AND LOCOMOTION
In section five, the educator brings under consideration Reflexes of Posture and Locomotion. The educator emphasizes on a comprehensive discussion of Positive Supportive Reaction and Cord ‘’Righting’’ Reflexes. Later, the educator explains Rhythmical Stepping Movements of Single Limb and Reciprocal Stepping of Opposite Limbs. Afterwards, light is shed on Mark Time Reflex, Galloping Reflex, and Scratch Reflex.
