UP Anti-CAA Stir: CM Yogi के सख्त कदम से सरकारी सम्पत्ति को नुकसान पहुंचाने वाले भयभीत

In wake of the increasing state of lawlessness and violence in his state over the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said that whoever was responsible for the damage of properties during the violence will have to compensate for it as well.

“The government has decided that those who had damaged the public property will compensate for it and strict action in this regard has also been taken on a war footing,” Adityanath said.

Adityanath has been under fire for the continued state of unrest in his state, where several areas of western UP continue to be under lockdown and enforcement protocols such as ban on Internet and Section 144. Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Lucknow, Kanpur, Bulandshahr, Agra and other parts have been simmering for the past 10 days.

Communal-driven clashes and instances of police brutality have also come to the fore from several parts of the state, including Aligarh where over 1000 people have been detained and several others are under preventive custody.

Around 20 people have so far died in clashes and protests in the state that has been marred by instances of stone-pelting and police firing.
