This landscaping job provided a huge learning opportunity! What's going on guys, Blake Hawthorn it's HIS turf. Today we're gonna be doing some landscaping. We have a truckload of plants, windmill palms, Japanese maples, burning bush and daylilies. We are going over to another landscaping job, this is a commercial job, where a lot of plants have died, they didn't make it through the winter. So what we're going to be doing is taking those out, I think we're going to find that they didn't have any plant mix and there they probably just put that rock clay soil back in around the plants, and that's probably why they died. And, that's exactly what we were thinking there's a lot of red clay in here, there's a little bit of slate. So they didn't put any kind of plant mix back in around these trees. What we're looking at doing is installing some good plant mix it was holding a lot of moisture. So we're gonna put peat moss in there, that peat moss is going to allow for the water to actually be able to drain off. And so we're going to drop those in these holes, and you know, get these new trees planted. Another problem is they don't have irrigation. So we have ordered a product on Amazon that we'll be using and that is a slow release watering bag. We're going to be using the Yanmar ViO17, a small compact excavator, with tracks that can go as narrow as 38 inches. So it is great for our smaller residential projects, especially for like our ponds and stuff like that. But today, it's going to be handy for digging those big root balls in for the trees we are installing.

A little insight on this job, the customer already had some existing landscaping and we were touching it up. And the great thing about an existing landscape, you can capitalize on what they already have. So you don't have to know a whole lot about landscaping. This a great way to get into landscaping by an existing landscape that has dead plants that need to be replaced. Identify the varieties, especially if it's hedges or bushes, there's going to be a lot of those that are still living. That way you just match those plant varieties. Alright, guys that is going be it for today's video, hope you enjoyed some tips on how we do things and get something like this project wrapped up and knocked out efficiently. One thing that I am excited about is these new watering bags, putting them on these trees because there's no irrigation. This is a dead barren area over here. And the last set of trees did not make it. So I'm really excited to see how these watery bags did and the drought, which we haven't had to worry about this year. But I'm sure it's going to be getting hot and get to summer pretty soon. And these things are going to be the only source of water for these trees. So I'll update you guys let you know how we like them how they're doing. But be sure if you're interested in click the link down below. That's something we're gonna be having on our videos. Yes, so if you want to give back and to help us and growing our channel, just please use our Amazon affiliation like and how would appreciate it.
