Description: This is an opportunity to learn about the story behind the development of the Sound Control software, a unique collaboration between computer music researcher and musician, Dr Rebecca Fiebrink and her team (at the time based at Goldsmiths London), specialist musicians and special needs music educators from Northamptonshire, and one of the country's largest music education Hubs, The Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust.

The Sound Control software will be demonstrated as part of the session. The software has been designed primarily to meet the musical needs of children and young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, and the evolution of the sofrware into its present form has been profoundly influenced by these young people.

Researcher, Sam Parke-Wolff. who worked with Dr Fiebrink on writing the software will be on hand to talk about technicalities and the machine-learning algorithms undering the program and its unique operation.
