Okay, so that joke is actually better suited for dealing with time related puns, but hey, it kind of fits.

In this video take a look at a horrible practice that you should NEVER perform on Saint Augustine lawns. If you must know how tall to cut Saint Augustine Grass, the general rules I have seen is that 3" is the minimum, and you will most likely experience browning at that height. 3.5" is the most common height I cut it at, which gets the height down and satisfies folks who want short grass. 4" and 4.5" is best for grass health and greenness, but that height can actually start to interfere with some shorter popup sprinklers between services.

Cutting the grass this short is not very healthy for it (at least the species in this yard). I explain why I did it in the video. ALSO, if you think the BOB-CAT isn't evacuating the clippings as well as you would hope, I felt the same. I have a modification I do to improve the dispersal in situations like this, but since the QuickCat 4000 is a demo I was giving it a break in period without changes. After this job, I promptly removed the discharge baffle so as to improve performance the next time I scalp a yard (which I will never do!) You can see that modification here
