The Danish princess, born in France as Marie Agathe Odile Cavallier, was asked how she finds living under the constant scrutiny of the press as a member of the Danish Royal Family. And she was offered Meghan’s case as an example of a royal “complaining” about the unwanted attention from the media and the public.
But, despite finding herself in a very similar situation with Meghan, Princess Marie didn’t side with the Duchess of Sussex.
Asked whether she finds “painful to live” under the microscope of the press, just like “Meghan Markle has complained about it”, Princess Marie said: “I make sure to expose myself only when necessary.
“Complaining is useless.”
The princess, who had a career of her own and was working as executive secretary in ING Numismatic Group SA before marrying Prince Joachim in 2008, added she hasn’t changed since becoming a member of the Royal Family, but has been careful about what she put out for the public to see.
