How to Identify and Overcome a Narcissist's Gas Lighting (Part 2)

How to Identify and Overcome a Narcissist's Gas Lighting (Part 2) The term Gaslighting refers to a psychological manipulation in which someone manipulates another person else in such a way that they begin to question their perception of reality. People who are in a relationship with a narcissist experience this quite frequently as a narcissist will change reality to prove that they are right or to avoid blame. For example, they may have clearly embarrassed you at a family gathering but when you tried to talk about it they convinced you that you heard incorrectly, or that no one else would have taken what they said as an insult. While these types of misunderstandings can happen from time to time in any relationship, with a narcissist this is the norm rather than the exception. Because of the frequency of these incidents, partners of narcissists often begin to question their own sanity. This second of a two-part series, gives examples of Gaslighting and explains what can be done if you find yourself in a relationship where this is happening over and over again.
