Our insecurities happen to make us who we are and I don't believe that we share them enough. I recently reached out to a bunch of you, strangers to reveal your deepest insecurities. It is time we talk about them instead of pushing them away. Our insecurities are not always visual. Like the feeling of not being able to speak because my word isn’t as good as the person beside me with the better job. Or being so anxious that I can’t join my friends to take a shot at a party because my throat is closed. We are so trained to not talk about the “negative things” in life and we keep them hidden. Listen to me when I say this, you are not alone. We all have our insecurities whether they are on the inside or out. It’s every single person who has a fear and a dream because it is in that moment where we feel like we are least accepted.
The fear of our not being our dream self terrifies us because we feel like everyone around us has already achieved it. When in reality, we are all fighting to be who we are in the same game. Where we are most vulnerable when we are the least sure of ourselves. Even the smallest ounce of lacking confidence, we shut down. And in that moment, where you feel like everything is crumbling down, is when you need to realize that you are something that someone is not.
Because you are you.
Insecurities and all, you are you.
So put the sword down, take the tape off and stop fighting and show the world who you really are.
