The Bottom Line: Talking mining sector with Bavelile Hlongwa The Mining Ministry says the mining sector is not dying.
Mineral Resources and Energy Minister, Gwede Mantashe, said last week that there had been new investments totalling R45 billion in the sector in the past year. He was presenting his department's R2 billion budget in parliament. In May President Cyril Ramaphosa reappointed Mantashe. He also combined the ministries of Mineral Resources and Energy into one enhance the portfolio. Tonight we're joined by the Deputy Minister of Mineral Resources, Bavelile Hlongwa.
