The Gospel of Thomas - Why is it not in the Bible?

The Gospel of Thomas is one of about fifteen early Christian writings described as “Gospels” --a collection of stories of sayings about Jesus. It was never “removed” from the Bible, but this video gets into what this work is, and why it wasn’t included as “canon” in the New Testament.

An extensive exploration of the New Testament by one of the most renowned scholars in the field.

The Five Gospels - Robert W. Funk,

This book’s introduction remains one of the best, and most accessible introductions into New Testament scholarship. It does get a bit into jargon, but I still find it to be one of the better explorations of the subject. This also includes a full text of the Gospel of Thomas
